Description
NOTES FROM THE RARE BOOK ROOM SPECIALIST:
This 1903 publication of the Smithsonian Institution contains a small article, with photos,
by Wilbur Wright. “Some Aeronautical Experiments” runs from page 133 to 148. (The
article preceding this is “Recent Aeronautical Progress... Regarding the Future of Aerial
Navigation” by Robert Baden-Powell.) Wilbur Wright passed away in 1912, leaving his
brother Orville to navigate the not-always-rosy relationship between the Wright legacy and
the Smithsonian Institution.
