Synopsis
Im vorliegenden Buch werden unterschiedliche Formen der Gesellschaftskritik anhand ausgew hlter Werke von Michel Houellebecq ("Extension du domaine de la lutte", "Les Particules l mentaires" und "Plateforme"), Fr d ric Beigbeder ("99 francs") sowie von Elfriede Jelinek ("Gier") pr sentiert. Dabei werden das Ph nomen der Wohlstands-, Unterhaltungs-, Informations- und der Konsumgesellschaft sowie das Ph nomen der Liebes- und Beziehungsunf higkeit als m gliche Auswirkungen einer neoliberal gepr gten Globalisierung beleuchtet. Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Zugangsweisen insbesondere hinsichtlich des politisch-ideologischen Standpunkts und der stilistischen Verfahrensweise wird eine vielschichtige und komplexe Kritik an der westlichen Gesellschaft und an kapitalistischen Strukturen gezeigt. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt stellen die umstrittene Rezeption ihrer Werke sowie die Kontroversen und Skandale dar, die Houellebecq, Beigbeder und Jelinek in der ffentlichkeit ausl sten und die zu ihrem Erfolg beitrugen.
